After a hard crash in the 2016 FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, this past June, Dale Earnhardt Jr., raced in just three more races in the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season before being experiencing concussion-like systems and being sidelined for the remaining 18 races of the 36-race schedule.

Now Earnhardt Jr., 42, has been cleared to return to racing after making a full recovery. When the 2017 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season begins with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Raceway in Daytona Beach, Florida, Earnhardt Jr. will be back in the driver’s seat of the #88 Chevrolet-powered Hendrick Motorsports race car.
