The Los Angeles Dodgers and starting pitcher Rich Hill have reached a 3-year, $48 million contract extension agreement.
Hill, 36, started 20 games and had a 12-5 record this season with the Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics with a 2.12 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with 129 strikeouts. Over his entire 12-year MLB career, which he has spent with the Chicago Cubs, the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox, the Cleveland Indians, the Los Angeles Angels, the New York Yankees, the Athletics, and the Dodgers, Hill has started 94 games and has a 38-28 record with a 4.10 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP with 616 strikeouts.
Hill’s career bests for a single season are 32 games started (2007 with the Cubs), 12 wins (2016 with the Athletics and the Dodgers), a 2.12 ERA (2016 with the Athletics and the Dodgers), a 1.00 WHIP (2016 with the Athletics and the Dodgers), and 183 strikeouts (2007 with the Cubs).
