Sunday Night Baseball stopped in Chicago for the Chicago Cubs against the Seattle Mariners. This game was nothing less than epic. Felix Hernandez took the mound for the Mariners while Brian Matusz started for the Cubs.

Matusz got rocked early, giving up 6 runs on only 3 innings pitched. The good news for the Cubs was that those 6 runs were the only runs they would give up all game.

Up 6-3 for majority of the game, the Mariners had the lead into the bottom of the 9th.

Addison Russell drove in the first run of the 9th for Chicago. With the score 6-4, Willson Contreras was thrown out at first base while Ben Zobrist scored to make it 6-5. Then after a wild pitch got beyond the catcher, Russell score and just like that, with only 3 outs to work with, the Cubs tied the game at 6.

Not much action went down until later in the bottom of the 12th. With pitcher John Lester at the plate and Jason Heyward at 3rd base, the fans were on their feet. Lester bunted the ball with 2 strikes, but as that is happened, Heyward began to run towards home plate. Before the Mariners could make a play, Heyward dove into home head first and won the ball game for the Cubs. Wrigley Field erupted in chaos, as it was an unbelievable finish in Chicago.

Sunday Night Baseball takes a stop to Los Angeles for a match up between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angels Dodgers next Sunday.
