Brian Campbell has agreed to terms with the Chicago Blackhawks today. He will return to Chicago, where he played from 2008 to 2011 and helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2010.

Campbell, who is now 37, played the last 5 seasons in Florida with the Panthers. In his time with the Panthers, he played in 376 regular season games and scored 28 goals with 147 assists. His best season in Florida was arguably the 2011-2012 season. He was awarded the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy after scoring 4 goals and 49 assists on only 6 penalty minutes that season.

Now Brian Campbell returns to Chicago, he turned down a 5m dollar extension  and instead signed a 1-year $2 million deal with the Blackhawks. During his first run with Chicago, Campbell saw success, scoring 19 goals and 98 assists in a total of 215 regular season games. He also played in 43 Stanley Cup playoff games, netting 4 goals and 14 assists. In the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, he scored a goal and 4 assists to help the Hawks defeat the Philadelphia Flyers.

Now on the back end of his career, Campbell will provide both depth and experience to a top-heavy defensive unit.
