Dallas Cowboys rookie and defensive tackle Maliek Collins has recently undergone surgery on his foot.

Collins got the injury during team activities last week. He is likely to start training camp on the PUP list.

He broke one of his metatarsals, the bone that connects the phalanges (toes) to the rest of his foot. This injury was similar to that of Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant last year.

Collins was looking to take the place of Randy Gregory, who will be suspended for the first 4 games of next season. Now, the 67th pick of the 2016 draft out of Nebraska will not be able to fill his spot.
