After being snubbed a year ago after lead the team to a 67-15 record, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been voted as this year’s NBA Coach of the Year. He only coached the Warriors in the last 39 games of this season after interim head coach Luke Walton led the team to a 39-4 start, however, Kerr was able to lead the Warriors to a 34-5 mark in those 39 games and lead them to a 73-9 record, which broke the all-time single season wins record previously held by the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls. The Warriors claimed the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs and homecourt advantage for the 2nd straight year under Kerr, making them 2 for 2 in such categories.

Here were my top 5 predictions for the award:

  1. Steve Kerr
  2. Gregg Popovich
  3. Dwane Casey
  4. Terry Stotts
  5. Tie between Brad Stevens and Steve Clifford
