The Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves have both hired their new head coaches in Scott Brooks and Tom Thibodeau.

Scott Brooks has signed with the Washington Wizards to become their new HC. The deal is reportedly worth about $7M a year over 5 years. Brooks is the ex-HC of the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2008-2015, where he amassed a record of 316-160 in 6 seasons. He was fired after the 2014-2015 season after missing the playoffs for the first time in his head coaching career. He finished the Thunder first place in their division 4 times. He now tries to find success in a Washington Wizards front office, after a 41-41 season led by Randy Wittman.

Tom Thibodeau has signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves becoming their next head coach. His deal is worth $40M over five years. Thibodeau is the ex-HC of the Chicago Bulls from 2010-2015, where he totaled a record of 255-139 over 5 seasons as well. He was fired after a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 playoffs. He led the Bulls to the playoffs in all five seasons, but never to the NBA Finals. He now is in charge of the Timberwolves, who have finished last in their division in 6 of the last 7 years and coming off of a 29-53 season coached by Sam Mitchell who had to fill in for Flip Saunders who tragically died of lymphoma just before the start of the season.
