With a first inning home run by Justin Upton, the Detroit Tigers went on to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by a large margin. Overall, Upton had a big game, going 4-5 at the plate, plus some spectacular catches in the outfield.
By a score of 8-2, with Francisco Rodriguez finishing off the Pirates, Detroit improved their record to 4-2. Anibal Sanchez took the win, pitching 5.2 innings and giving up 2 earned runs.
