Pacers Clinch Playoff Berth, Bulls Eliminated

By winning at home against the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 129-105, the Indiana Pacers (43-37) became the 14th team of the NBA season and 8th and final team in the Eastern Conference to clinch a berth in this year’s NBA Playoffs. They also eliminated the Chicago Bulls (40-40) from playoff contention in the process, making them the 13th team in the NBA and 7th and final team in the East this season to be eliminated from the postseason before it even starts. The Pacers currently in the No. 7 seed in the East. Other NBA teams to have clinched a berth in this year’s NBA Playoffs are as follows:

East:

  1. Cleveland Cavaliers
  2. Toronto Raptors
  3. Atlanta Hawks
  4. Boston Celtics
  5. Miami Heat
  6. Charlotte Hornets
  7. Indiana Pacers
  8. Detroit Pistons

West:

  1. Golden State Warriors
  2. San Antonio Spurs
  3. Oklahoma City Thunder
  4. Los Angeles Clippers
  5. Portland Trailblazers
  6. Memphis Grizzlies

This leaves 2 spots open for playoff berths, both in the West, with 3 teams eligible for the 2 spots in the West.

No. 7 seed Dallas Mavericks (41-39), No. 8 seed Utah Jazz (40-40), No. 9 seed Houston Rockets (39-41)
