NBA Playoff Predictions (v1)

Here are my predictions for the NBA Playoff “April-June Madness” tournament. Let’s start with seeding predictions, since only a few seeds are locked up for sure as we speak.

East:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers
2. Toronto Raptors
3. Atlanta Hawks
4. Boston Celtics
5. Charlotte Hornets
6. Miami Heat
7. Detroit Pistons
8. Indiana Pacers

West:

1. Golden State Warriors
2. San Antonio Spurs
3. Oklahoma City Thunder
4. Los Angeles Clippers
5. Portland Trailblazers
6. Utah Jazz
7. Memphis Grizzlies
8. Houston Rockets

Obviously, my seedings may not all be correct, so my playoff predictions at this point may not only be incorrect, but the matchups I have may be totally off. That’s fine. That’s why it’s a prediction, and it’s why the title says “V1” meaning I am planning on releasing more versions of this as things become more certain and even after the playoff field is set. Without further do, here are my round by round predictions:

 

Conference Quarterfinals (Round of 16):

1 CLE over 8 IND, 4-1

2 TOR over 7 DET, 4-2

6 MIA over 3 ATL, 4-2

5 CHA over 4 BOS, 4-3

1 GSW over 8 HOU, 4-0

2 SAS over 7 MEM, 4-0

3 OKC over 6 UTA, 4-2

4 LAC over 5 POR, 4-3

 

Conference Semifinals (Round of 8):

1 CLE over 5 CHA, 4-3

2 TOR over 6 MIA, 4-2

1 GSW over 4 LAC, 4-1

2 SAS over 3 OKC, 4-3

 

Conference Finals (Round of 4):

1 CLE over 2 TOR, 4-3

1 GSW over 2 SAS, 4-3

 

Finals (Round of 2)

1 GSW over 1 CLE, 4-1
