Falcons Sign Courtney Upshaw

The Falcons have reached an agreement with former Ravens DE Courtney Upshaw to a one year deal and an undisclosed amount of money.

Upshaw was drafted in 2012 out of Alabama in the second round. He tallied 29 tackles and 2.0 sacks last season along with two fumbles forced and two recovered.

Upshaw met with the New York Jets before signing with Atlanta. He didn’t play full time in Baltimore due to minutes shared with Elvis Dumervil.

Upshaw is just one of many signings the Falcons have made this off season, along with Pro Bowl center Alex Mack from the Cleveland Browns, the jack-of-all-trades that is wide receiver Mohamed Sanu from the Cincinnati Bengals, decent backup quarterback Matt Schaub from the Ravens and defensive lineman Derrick Shelby from the Miami Dolphins.
