United States and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard is to become the newest member of the MLS’s Colorado Rapids. The 6’3″, 37 year old American has played in the BPL since 2003, and is playing in his home country next summer.

Howard will leave his current club, Everton, at the end of the Premier League season and will be able to play for the Rapids when the MLS summer transfer window opens up on July 8. Howard is still under contract for two more years, but he is going to move clubs for a fee of $600k.

Tim Howard played for Manchester United from 2003-2007 where he made  45 appearances alongside greats like Ryan Giggs, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo. He then went to Everton on loan in 2006 and never left. He played 352 games and even scored a full-field goal in the 2011-2012 season.

Everton have Joel Robles as their best goalkeeper now after Howard took some leave from football. Now without Howard as a plan B, Everton will surely pursue a new franchise GK once the transfer window opens.
